SSC Design Team Convener (President)

The Design Team Convener is responsible for the whole of Design Team and all of its activities as well as its volunteers.


Over the last year, we had fantastic growth I want to continue this growth whilst also working on the operations of Design Team so that everything runs smoothly. I also want Design Team to attend more events this year and build a creative community for all our members.

Vice President

The Vice President is a very important role and helps support the convener as well as directly managing all of our project.

Secretary

The Secretary helps with managing all of our correspondence as well as helping everyone on the team stay organised.

HANABI BLACKMOOR

Project Manager

Our Project Manager organises all of Design Team’s projects, communicates with clients and works alongside our designers to ensure successful completion of work.

Our Ordinary member designers provide a vital link to our other volunteers and act as mentors to them, providing training and guidance. In addition to this, they also complete their own projects for clients.
I'm looking forward to working in a variety of aesthetics in accordance to the client's needs and am excited to encourage others to pursue creative projects whilst at St Andrews.

AASTHA SRIVASTAVA

Social Media Officer

Our Social Media Offficer runs our social media platforms and works closely with both the Branding Officer and the Social Coordinator on our outreach and engagement programs.

MAYA MARIE

Branding Officer

Our Branding Officer works to build our brand and makes a lot of our own internal marketing materials. They work closely with the Social Media Officer and together make up our Marketing Team

Social Coordinator

Our Social Coordinator is in charge of managing both our social and event programs. They are a vital part of our subcommittee, engaged both in outreach and recruitment as well as building a community within our team so we all thrive.

Training Officer

Our Training Officer leads the building of and teaching of our training program. They help to give training in both Adobe and other products to our members and volunteers and often work with other members of the committee to do this.

Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for our budget and helps to keep us on track throughout the year so that we can keep doing the work that we do and running events that you love.

Photography Officer

Our Photography Officer leads our Ordinary Member Photographers and also helps to teach our photography classes as part of our training program.

WHY NOT JOIN OUR CREATIVE TEAM AND SEE WHAT IMPACT YOU CAN MAKE WHILST ADDING TO YOUR PORTFOLIO.

The University of St Andrews Design Team is one of nine subcommittees of the Students' Association, which means that every student is automatically a member of our society. In other words, no membership fee required! Every Design Team event or workshop is free for all students and all are welcome to attend. We are proud to be one of the Union's most multi-faceted subcommittees, which means there are several ways that you can get involved. 

If you're interested in anything we do, the first step is to e-mail us sadt@ or get in touch with us on Facebook or Instagram. That way we can keep you informed of what's going on.

Beginners: Check out our workshops and see if there is anything you'd like to attend. We hold regular creative workshops for students of all skill levels, as well as beginner and intermediate level Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills sessions.

If we don't offer a class you'd like get in touch we may be able to arrange it.


We also have mentors that we can put you in touch with who can work with you in training or working on projects (see more below).​

Designers: Want a piece of the action? We regularly receives design requests from various student societies, subcommittees, departments and students across the University. These requests are typically societies seeking help with event promotion, but they can also be requests for assistance with logo and/or web design. If you have experience in web or graphic design and would like to grow your portfolio, then please get in touch by emailing us.

On your first few projects or for as long as you need we will pair you up with one of our experienced Designers to help you out.
